Maybe a mtb ss is not as efficient or quick but the only problem I have is wearing down tread more quickly.

In 9 months of commuting to work two days a week, I've only ridden in rain once; not having full fenders may be another problem.dalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13715808669075015981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5551402704648481350.post-61162391797673072012008-02-18T09:42:00.000-06:002008-02-18T09:42:00.000-06:00Yes, it keeps getting easier.Yes, it keeps getting easier.T-bonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11219036187623470989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5551402704648481350.post-66646219286621799172008-02-18T08:40:00.000-06:002008-02-18T08:40:00.000-06:00Are you going for 3?Are you going for 3?Biker Bob/Runner Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09322922006756215840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5551402704648481350.post-86657293404786727442008-02-15T17:53:00.000-06:002008-02-15T17:53:00.000-06:00Hey, my ride is 3 miles each way ... plus another ...Hey, my ride is 3 miles each way ... plus another 10. Once it gets nice out I plan on going for longer rides to and from work, but for now it's just a straight shot.T-bonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11219036187623470989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5551402704648481350.post-8714553596747909242008-02-15T14:21:00.000-06:002008-02-15T14:21:00.000-06:00Good job. I don't think I've managed two weeks strait yet. There's SO MANY benefits to bike commuting and all it takes is a slight change in routine. That's it. Congratulations on your commitment to better yourself by saving money, losing weight, making yourself happier, and cutting down on CO2 all while taking a little bike ride everyday.

Did you see the dingle setup I had on my Ferrous for a while? Commuting was the reason for it. I wanted to ride to work, ride to Swanson/Jewell after work for a couple laps, then ride home. The Dingle helped, but man, mountain bikes (especially single speeds) really aren't made for commuting. If I had a full sized frame pump I could go between on-road and off-road pressure easily.
